Wetland at Galloway

I came to the US in 1997. I never knew about the wetland until I interpreted for Chin high school students at Westland High School in March 2010. I read s short essay about the wetland there the first time in my life. It mentioned that "wetland is the kidney of environment" and I was very curious about that statement. I studied more about the wetland since then. Interestingly I studied the story of preserving the wetland in the USA including in wetland in Ohio.

My church, Emmanuel Chin Baptist Church, bought the land over 15 acres big at 604 Doherty Rd, Galloway, Ohio 43119 in 2012. We hired soil scientist to test the soils. He told us that the eastern corner of the land is pretty good wetland and you cannot develop any thing there becasue the government has a very strict regulations about the wetland. He explained us about the importance of wetland for the environment. And then we respect the area of wetland in our church land and we told all the church members not to disturd any plants, grass, bushes and trees in thouse wetlands. Alot of rain water gather together in the southeast corner of the property and it looks like a bid pond. It was so beautiful. The rain water created a very thick marshes in the east side of the land. The location is also part of Darby Creek Watershed which is one of the largest watersheds in the USA.

Wetland

I took some photos of the wetlands in our church so that people would understand more about it and preserve it for the sake of our environment. We value our wetland and we shared the story to all the Chin people who visited to our church property. It is a very beautiful place to visit. All visitors were amaged when they saw the wetland and a very thick forest within the church property.

We put the fence in the north and east to protect not only our property but also the wetland from other people in the community. We valued our wetland as a special gift from God for Columbus city. I love nature. I am one of the ecologists in Myanmar and I wrote many articles in my country about the need of protecting our environments including animals, insects, bees, birds, fishes and all kinds of reptiles. I am very happy and proud of having this beautiful wetland in our church property. I see the beauty of God's creations whenver I visited to my church land. It is absolutely amazing place to see it. We need to protect all these wetlands for the benefits of our future generations to come.

I also studied about wetland in my country, Myanmar but I did not find any laws and regulations about preserving the wetland in our country. I felt sorry about that. I asked many church leaders in my country whether wetlands are preserved by the government in our country. They all said no. I checked on line about wetland in Bumra and I found none. And I wrote an article about the preservation of wetland in USA and the needs of preserving it in Myanmar by the government. Hopefully the government in Myanmar will sep up the rules and regulations of preserving wetland in our country some day.

This upper grove is also an isolated wetland. Hundred of trees grow in one particular place. The shade is pretty good. Alot of birds put their nets here. The trees are pretty tall. I hope some trees would be over 100 ft tall when they become mature trees.

This grove is also an isolated wetland area.

This property has also beautiful natural flowers like this.
