Construction on W.Broad Street

Broad Street is one of the most popular streets in Columbus which divides the city of Columbus north and south. This street is also called Rt. 40. It is called a Historic National Rd. It is a very long road. West of High St is called W. Broad St and East is called E. Broad St.

West Broad St is a four-lanes road in west of I-270. The road is congested too much after the casino was built in the west side. The trafic was so heavy after in the morning rust hour and in the afternoon after 3:00PM. The Hollywood Casino was opened in 2013 and it helped the westside economy alot especially the roads were widened and all the street lights are modernized in Gorgeville Road and in W. Broad Steet east of I270 . The Hollywood Casino is making impacts in the westside community. It specially improved roads and trafic lights.

Road construction is going right now on W. Broad Street between I-270 and Hilliard Rome Rd. It is said that the cost will be paid by Hollywood Casino. The steet is widdended and side walk is installed. The community is slowly revitalized. Economy is improving; housing market is up; most of the apartments are full; Newhaven Wood apartment, one of the largest apartments in the Mid-west is remodelled; the U-Hall Storage room has been build near Georgesville Rd; Clinics are built in the corner of W. Broad St and Norton Rd; Autos Dealers are filled with new cars at Auto Mall near Georgesville Road and I-270; New McDonald and Victoria Fitness Center were built near I-270; BMV opened their office at Georgesville Square; one Asian Market was opened in the corner of W.Broad St and Hilliard Rome Rd and there are alot good things going on in the westside community.

There are are six gas stations only in the west of I-270 such as Speedway, Thorton, Sunaco, Giant Eagle, Kroger and four shops for autos such as Autozone,  and there are several used tire shops and auto repair shops. There are three big thrift stores in the westside. The westside community has a huge opportunity to grow in the near future in business.

I, as one of the westside residents, am very happy and proud of our westside community and I took some photos of road construction near our areas on West Broad Street. I always encourage my church members to shop at westside so that the business will improve in our areas.

I am so happy to see W. Broad Steet is widdening and I took the following photos from the construction site on W. Broad St to show how wonderful the westside is today. I hope the road construction will have economic impacts when it is completed.
